It first appeared as an undercurrent, then began to take space, growing more intentional with each series. For Khayat, red is not only a color. It is a thread that binds. This chromatic journey has followed her from one exhibition to the next, shaping the emotional atmosphere of her installations. It was in the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale in Riyadh that red reached a new level of presence. In that context, it became both a personal symbol and a collective one, a gesture toward histories, landscapes, and inner lives that resist being erased.
Red continues to evolve in her work. Sometimes stitched, sometimes painted, always felt. It does not shout, but it stays. It lingers. It holds.
