Conversations with Nature was a solo exhibition by Lana Khayat at XVA Gallery that brought together a body of work grounded in silence, intuition, and a deep attentiveness to the natural world. Through thread, pigment, and gesture, the exhibition explored the invisible dialogues that take place between artist and environment, form and feeling, memory and material.

The works presented in Conversations with Nature emerged from a sustained meditation on landscape — not as scenery, but as a living, breathing presence. Each canvas became a field of quiet exchange, where stitching and pigment met in soft resistance. Nature was not rendered or depicted, but echoed. Through abstraction and layering, Lana Khayat invited viewers to experience nature as rhythm, as breath, as something held in the body before it ever becomes image.

Central to the exhibition was Khayat’s use of thread, particularly silk sourced from Spain. These threads acted as lines of memory, tracing the edges of thought and emotion. They whispered across the surface, connecting one layer to the next, like roots beneath soil or veins beneath skin. The act of stitching was not decorative but meditative — a way of listening, of marking time, of giving structure to the intangible. Color also played a vital role. Earth tones met luminous blues and greens, echoing the pulse of water, light, and growth. The works held space for slowness. They asked to be read gently, not as declarations but as questions. In this exhibition, nature was not a backdrop. It was the collaborator, the guide, the voice speaking just beneath the surface.

For commissions, collaborations, or collector inquiries, I'm always open to meaningful exchange.
